CollegeInfoDesk

Introducing: CollegeInfoDesk!

CollegeInfoDesk allows students to create and share schedules, discount read/write professor evaluations, pilule buy/sell used books with other students, epidemic and find all of the books required for their schedule in just one click so that they can compare bookstore prices to Amazon and the list price! *whew* That’s a mouthful. Go to the site and check it out, I’m really happy with the way it turned out, so I’d love to see it get some use.

For one feature of the schedule maker (browsing courses by fields), and for the finding of books by the courses on your schedule, I need to set up some data at each school (or schools can do this themselves using the API). Right now the Rochester Institute of Technology is the only school with that set up, but several more will be finished within the next couple of weeks. The site is still pretty cool even at schools where those features aren’t set up, however.

This is the project I have been working on all summer. Just under a week ago, I released it publicly to get some general feedback. Everything has been overwhelmingly positive, and it seems that this is poised to be my most successful project yet! Check it out, and feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of the site.
